Keeping up with the Fit Life While on Vacation

What if we told you that you can go on a vacation and DON’T have to sacrifice the summer body you’ve worked so hard for? It’s possible, but it’s going to take some work and dedication. Before we dive in, it’s important to note that vacations are supposed to be fun and you should never be so obsessed with sticking to a plan that you forget to have fun.
Keep Moving
It may not be easy to stick to your routine while on vacation, but there are plenty of ways to stay active and keep moving. Whether it's walking to a local restaurant for dinner, hopping in the hotel pool for a swim, or heading out for some dancing, the objective is simply to do something. Depending on your travel plans, your vacation can be a great time to try something new! Look up a Yoga, Barre, Cycle, or CrossFit class in the area that you're traveling to ahead of time, and then contact them to schedule a drop-in. Only Treat Yourself to the Things you Really Want
It can be easy to get into a vacation-mindset and gorge on everything that you see, but that's an easy way to lose progress. Instead, focus on the treats that you've been dying to have - pizza in Italy, that CRAZY doughnut from the shop you've been following on Instagram, or the Strawberry Margarita that's been on your mind since you booked your flight.
Eat SOME Vegetables
Not only will you feel better if you eat fruits and vegetables, but it will help balance out the rest of your diet. Subbing roasted veggies for rice or potatoes is an easy accommodation at almost any restaurant. Head to a local farmer's market for fresh veggies and on-the-go snacks.
Let People know in Advance
Sometimes we go on vacation, or even just spend a weekend away with the family, and we have the best intentions. Then the questions and the food-pushing starts,
and eventually we feel pressured into eating the food we didn't really want, or ordering something different than chicken & veggies at dinner. While you can't usually avoid this altogether, sometimes letting the people that you're traveling with know that you're in the middle of training or on a plan can help to curb it.
As a closing note, we want to remind you that you’re in control of your health and fitness. That doesn’t mean that you can’t have some fun, but remember that you’re the only person responsible for reaching your goals. Do you have any tips for staying on track while traveling?
